Portrait picture of Mary Owens (Mary is an older sister of James, and the only daughter of William Sr.'s first family that moved to Manitoba), Arminella and Elijah Owens. This picture was taken in the early 1900's, but I am not sure if it was taken near Darlingford/Morden, or after they moved 70 miles west to Cartwright, where Elijah briefly ran the town grocery store until it burned down around 1909. I am guessing that it is from before they moved (which is sometime between 1904-1908). Arminella (known as "Ella") worked in the store as well, as shown in another picture, and she married Thompson Owens (no relation that I know of) in Cartwright on Feb. 26, 1908. Elijah & Mary had another, older, daughter named Minerva, but she died Jan. 26, 1888 at the age of 2 years, 3 months and 4 days.
