Died without leaving a will. He was a lumberman/carpenter for 18 years, and a rural mail carrier for 6 years. He suffered from Pulmonary Tuberculosis for the last 6 years of his life, succumbing to it at the age of 43.

Listed in 1881 census as being born in 1877.

Listed in 1911 census under name Melvin Marshell, living in Orillia, Simcoe East district, Ontario. He is listed as being born Nov. 1879, and living with his wife and 1 son. His dad Coleman Marshall (and Thomasine, and his brother Nelson) lived next door. He is listed as a carpenter, running out of his house (“house building”), as was his dad next door.

He is shown as Melville Marshall in the 1921 census, living in Orillia, Washago, with his family.

There is a reference from a family member on the ancestry.ca message boards for Marshall that shows that they got married on April 28, 1907.
