Mary was a seamstress; it kept her busy sewing for customers as well as her family. She was adept at wedding cakes, etc. too.

When Arza went for military service in World War II, she made mini-uniforms for their two eldest sons (Jim and Danny) to match their dad.

She died of the flu due to Alzheimers.
