Family moved to Bonnington, NWT in 1905 (before Saskatchewan officially became a province). Filed on a homestead 1 mile northeast of Bonnington, and spent 7 years there. In fall of 1912 they bought SW 26-29-3-W3 from Jim Hamilton, 2&1/2 miles west of Kenaston.Alex and Mary moved to Saskatoon in 1945, where she died the next year. Alex returned to Kenaston and lived with his daughter Eileen and her husband John for a time. When he was 84, he moved to the Lutheran Sunset home in Saskatoon, where he stayed until he passed away.

Witnesses to her wedding with Alexander were William R. Boyle & M.F.Jessup, both of North Bay,ON. At the time of her marriage she was living in Cache Bay,ON.
