Notes for Charles Peter “Charlie” BOYLE

From his obituary in the Saskatoon Star Phoenix, 2000:Was educated at Laurel School, SK. Farmed in Laura, Vanscoy and Grandora districts before moving to Vanscoy in 1977. He was recognized as an excellent teamster and mule skinner. He was very proud of a team of drivers which he owned and showed at the Saskatoon Exhibition gaining a few ribbons for his efforts. He was one of the last farmers in the district to change over to farming with a tractor. He was also the neighborhood barber back in the day when money was scarce. While living in Vanscoy, Charlie and Toots enjoyed the fellowship of the Senior Citizens Club. Charlie will be remembered for his sense of humour and his hearty laugh.

From Vanscoy history book - started farming in 1934 on different rented lands until 1949, when he took over Parker’s farm.
