Notes for Robert HUNT

Birth date listed as Feb. 1857 in 1901 census for Pembina, MB. They were neighbors of Henry & Jennie Boyle in 1901 census as well.

Actual birth/date dates from Manitoba Vital Statistics death record.

From Darlingford Saga II:

“In 1882 he migrated to Manitoba where he worked on farms, as well as, on the construction of the south branch of the CPR. He started farming on his own in the mid or late 1890’s, settling on a farm about 3 miles northeast of Darlingford. In 1890 he married Joesphine Boyle, also from near Pakenham. Of this union, eight children were born.”

W1, Twp 3, Rg 7 in June 8, 1916 census. All children but Ruby were still living with him and his wife.

They still lived at W1, Twp 3, Rg 7 (Section 22) in the 1921 census. Living with them at the time were Veda, Errol, Olive, Leonard, Harold, Leslie and Nellie - only Ruby had left, after she married George Storey.

There is a mention of an “Mr. R. Hunt” (in the March 27, 1885 Manitou Mercury newspaper) being appointed agent for the Watson Mfg. Co., with headquarters in Manitou, taking over for a Mr. Ferguson. Not sure if this is Robert or not.
