Julius came to Canada by boat (ANDANIA) from the Port of Hamburg on Jan. 19, 1925, arriving in Canada (at Halifax) on Feb. 1, 1925. He sent for his wife and daughter 2 & 1/2 years later to join him. They lived in Germany at the time. He was originally Catholic like his father, but he switched to Lutheran after his father died, like his mother originally was.

Julius became a naturalized Canadian citizen on May 14, 1932.

Had some heart problems before he died. Died of a heart attack, while going to the landfill in Wadena,SK. Fell onto some stones (had a mark above his eye that indicated it).

His son Otto says that he came on a cousins ticket on the ship, so his name is not on the ship register... it has his cousins name. Leo Ziola (already in Canada) sponsored the cousin to come to Canada, but the cousin decided to not come, so Julius came in his place.
