Notes for Anna (Kasiuk in Canada) KASIK

Just before she moved to Canada, she worked on a farm in Poland, harvesting sugar beets.

She and her daughter left the Port of Hamburg for Canada on Aug. 31, 1927, on the ship ANDANIA, arriving in Quebec on September 10, 1927. She and her daughter Marta were living in Dryzewitz, Germany at the time of their emigration. She was originally Catholic, though she attended the Lutheran church with her husband until he died, then she went back to being a Catholic before her death.

It should be noted that Anna was using her maiden name on the ship; they were not married before they came to Canada, although they married very soon after Anna arrived.
