David was the one who dropped Delusignan from the family name. While he did remind his descendants that Delusignan was the family name, it was never written down (just pronounced out loud), and all of his photos, papers, etc. were destroyed when his house in North Bay,ON burned down in 1939, so nobody knew how to spell it.
