Bernard’s obituary:

Bernard Keller passed away Thursday August 9, 2007 at St. Paul’s Hospital in Saskatoon after a brief illness and complications from surgery, at the age of 90. Bernard will be remembered by his sons, Terry (Donna), Brent (Sheila) and Curt (Val); grandchildren Darcy (Ernie) Allen, Jeffrey Keller, Joelle (Mark) Franks, Christopher (Pam) Keller, Brendan Keller, Sean (Marlo) Keller, and Joanna Keller; great-grand children Mitchell, Elle, Jordan, Jacilyn, Jessica and Rebecca. Bernard was predeceased by his wife Dorothy in 2005; his mother Leila, and his father Clinton. Bernard was born Dec. 6, 1916 on his grandfather Boomhower’s farm north of McGee, Sask. He attended many different schools while his mother worked as housekeeper for different employers. He graduated from McKenzie High in Kindersley where he made home for the rest of his life. He married Dorothy Boyle in Kindersley on October 30, 1941. Bernard and Merlin Cameron became partners in 1945 and operated Keller & Cameron until 1985. They were the John Deere dealer from 1945 until 1983, and the Pontiac, Buick & GMC dealer from 1955 until 1985. Bernard served the community of Kindersley in many ways: Kindersley Board of Trade, Boy Scout Association, Kindersley Klippers Hockey Club, St. Paul’s UnitedChurch board and various other boards and committees. He served as Mayor of Kindersley from (years??) He loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman and hunter, and was a long time member and sponsor of Ducks Unlimited. Bernard was very proud to have been a charter member of the Kindersley Kinsmen Club and was a current member of Kindersley K-40. Bernard was a Member of Kindersley Masonic Lodge and the Goose Lake Shrine. A celebration of Bernard’s life will be held at St. Paul’s United Church, Kindersley, Sask. on (day, month, date @ time) Arrangements entrusted to Kindersley Funeral Home.
