Mona Boyle (Gerwing)August 30,1935 - July 19,2017Mona passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family at the age of 81 at St. Joseph’s Home in Saskatoon. Mona is survived by her daughter, Gina (Carl) Melnyk, and their family Shawn (Aly Paulson), Cara (Josh) Piper and their children Bennett and Beckham Piper; son, Dean (Nancy) Boyle and their children, Rheanna and Vivian; sisters, Audrey Gerwing (Sister of Sion) and Valerie (Mike) Hadac; sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Gerwing; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Tony and Margaret (Britz) Gerwing; sisters, Mel and Mary Ellen; brother, Bob; and brother-in-law, Tony Brophy. Mona was born in Lake Lenore, SK and in 1948, her family moved to Saskatoon. She married Cliff Boyle on July 1, 1957. Mona and Cliff raised their family in Saskatoon. Mona worked at SaskTel, Eaton’s and Sinfonia Travel. She was a gicted and accomplished artist and a very successful travel consultant. Whatever she did, she did with great passion. This was evident in all of her relationships; wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, friend. The family is forever grateful to the Sisters and staff of St. Joseph’s Home for their deep love, care and support in Mona’s final years. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph’s Home. Vigil of Prayer will be held on Monday, July 24, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. and the Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at 10:30 a.m., both at the Cathedral of the Holy Family, 123 Nelson Road.
