From Artemesia Township. Birth date from 1901 census (after she was married).

Her husband’s obituary in 1935 mentions that she was the 3rd daughter in her family.

Moved to Markdale from Vandeleur a year after her husband died.

She had been bedfast for 3 months, and passed away “peacefully at eight o’clock in the evening”, accoridng to her obit in the Feb. 23, 1944 Flesherton Advance.

Her obituary read:

“Mrs. Jacob Holley Passes

Mrs. Jane Holley, widow of the late Jacob Holley of Vandeleur passed away at her home in Markdale on Sunday, Feb. 20th.She had been in failing health for some time and had been bedfast for the past three months, the end coming peacefully at eight o’clock in the evening. She was in her 76th year.The late Mrs. Holley was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Speer of Artemesia, where she was born and grew ot womanhood. On June 12, 1895, she married Mr. Holley and they settled on a farm at Vandeleur, where they continued to live. Mr. Holley passed away nine years ago, and a year later Mrs. Holley moved to Markdale.Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Harold Lever of Markdale and three sisters, Mrs. Sam Devitt of Schomberg, Mrs. Ben White of Markdale and Mrs. Geo. Black of Marengo, Sask., also one brother, Samuel Speer of Alberta, who came east to see Mrs. Holley in December.The funeral was held on Tuesday afternon, with service in Oliver’s Funeral Chapel, conducted by Rev. Norman Caswell of Annesley United Church. Interment was made in the Mardale Funeral Chapel.”
