Alexander was a farmer living in Artemesia at the time to his marriage to Mary. Witnesses were John Martin and Sarah McKee, both of Artemesia.

Appears in 1901 census in Artemesia, Grey County,ON, along with his wife and kids, as Alex.

There is a note on the 1901 census website that a Myra Tarkka is Alex’s great grand-daughter, and that one of his sons married a Nellie Meldrum (who had a brother, Robert D. Meldrum).

Lived in Algoma West, Sault Ste. Marie, ON in 1911 census, along with his wife and son Samuel.

He was a Drayman by the time his daughter Edna was married (in 1909).
