There is mention of guests attending a funeral for “Mrs. J.A. Holley of Markdale, formerly of Vandeleur”, in the March 1, 1944 Flesherton Advance.

Her husband’s obituary in the Aug 10, 1944 Markdale standard mentions that “[she], who had been invalid for sometime, survives to mourn the loss of her husband who had cared for her so tenderly”. Thus, I am not sure who the first obituary is referring to.
