The name changed from Delusignan to Pealow with Pierre. When the census take came by, who only knew English, and asked Pierre for his surname, Pierre, who knew very little english, thought he meant nickname... so he gave his nickname, which was Pielo. Since that time, various spellings were found, and Pealow was eventually settled on (but also included Pileau, Pelow,Pellow,Pillow, and,briefly until corrected, Pilon).
