Appears with the family on the 1871 and 1881 censuses, but not the 1891 census. Estimated birth year is based on 1871 census. Assume he got married and move away. Found a James McNabb marrying a Jane Allary (Sep 17,)1882 in Belcourt, MB. Also, a James McNabb marrying Margaret Hallett on May 6, 1891 in Plap. If this latter one is him, he passed away Dec. 28, 1932 at the age of 72 (making him born around 1860).

There is also, however, a James McNab (1901) /McNabb (1911) listed as an inmate at the Selkirk Asylum (mental health hospital), who was born in 1865. Discussions with Randy Boyle’s family did seem to recall that a relative may have been institutionalized, so this may be him. Birth year is a close match for this as well.
