It was in the Hastings North District, Sub-district Herschel, Monteagle, McClure, Wicklow & Bangor. This means that he was born closer to 1830.

If this is him, it also lists him as having been born in Quebec. It also lists a “Romey Parcher”, female, aged 38, also having been born in Quebec, of English origin. I assume that this is Roxanna, as they only listed heads of households in the 1871 census, and if she had been widowed the previous 12 months, she would have become the head of the household. The age would match Roxanna’s birth year of 1832.
