Served in Canadian Army. Met his wife Ida in Winnipeg, Manitoba. After getting married, they lived briefly in Winnipeg, before moving to Saskatchewan in 1947. They got their first half section of land in 1950, in the Kuroki area, until they retired to Wadena in 1983.
