John was living with his parents and siblings in the 1911 census for Regina.

The family moved to the Lintlaw area from Holdfast, SK in 1927 (kids up until Peter were born by this time). In 1947, John, his wife, and their six youngest kids moved to Canyon,BC.

His death certificate states that he was a farmer, and had lived in BC for about 17 years. He died at his rural home on LIster-Canyon Road in Canyon,BC. He retired from farming on August 25, 1964, after farming for 60 years. It also states that fell from his barn loft on to his head, fracturing his skull and cervical spine, causing a brain haemorrhage that killed him.
