Notes for Julius Frederick Carl PORATH

The Porath family immigrated to Canada in 1906 (to Ontario), and Julius and his wife were naturalized in 1911. From the 1911 census records, it looks like the eldest daughter Lena was born in Germany, and the rest of the kids were born in Ontario except for the two youngest who were born in Alberta. They were listed as Evangelical farmers.

From Leon Schwieg: They Julius, Ferdinand and Wilhelmina departed from Liverpool, England on Sep. 8 1882, and arrived in Quebec on Sep 24, 1882. He also says that there is much speculation that Julius was adopted by Ferdinand and Wilhelmina.

1891 census has him as a farmer, and married. His mother Mena (same household) is also married.

Moved to Alberta after selling his land for $1700 on April 4th, 1906.

Shown in 1911 census with 3rd wife Emma, in Red Deer, AB.
