After a brief illness, and surrounded by his family, he drew his last breaths and went to meet his God at 11:42 p.m. on Friday, June 1, 2012. Dad loved God with all his heart, mind, soul and strength and he lived with the certainty of his eternal destination. He lived his life in honour of his God and demonstrated that love in all of his actions, beliefs and dealings with each person he came into contact with. He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Florence Lila Marie (Lowry) Davis; daughter Lila Larson (Al); son Dr. William (Bill) Loyde Davis Jr. (Judy); son Donald Ross Davis (Nancy); daughter Sylvia Russell (Greg); grandchildren - John Larson; Kelley Sookram (Errol); Kara Haakenson (Mark); Kris Davis (Teresa); Andrew Davis (Carrie); Katherine Speirs (Ryan); Rachel Anne Russell; James Russell; great-grandchildren - Riley Anderson; Benton Sookram; Skylar Sookram; Logan Haakenson; Kaitlin Haakenson; Kristian Davis, Maria Davis; Faith Davis. He was predeceased by his parents William Henry Davis and Emily Jane Johnson; brothers Charles and Everard; sister Muriel Rumak. He is also mourned by his sisters Bertha (Ed) Leeder; Alice (Joe) Collingwood, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many, many friends. We give special thanks to the Winnipeg Fire and Paramedic Service who gave such attentive care and compassion on the ambulance trips to Seven Oaks Hospital; to the Seven Oaks ER staff who listened and checked what was needed; to the staff on 5 Unit 4 for their immediate response; and to the ICU staff who were so caring and attentive and offered us the time and opportunity to surround and be with Dad at his passing. The service will be held Friday, June 8, 2012, 2:00 p.m., at Thomson Funeral Home. A life well loved is one well lived. THOMSON FUNERAL HOME 669 BROADWAY, WINNIPEG, MB R3C 0X4 783-7211”
