It is with deep sadness that the family of Flora Lowry announce her passing on January 29, 2012 at Tabor Home in Morden, Manitoba. Flora was born February 28, 1920 in Winnipeg, Manitoba the daughter of George and Stella White (nee Sigurdson). She was raised on the White family farm at Snowflake, Manitoba and received her education at Snowflake and Manitou. On October 12, 1940 she married Loyde Alexander Lowry and moved to the Lowry farm north of Darlingford where they farmed for 40 years and raised their five children. Between 1977 and 1992 they spent winters in South Texas where they enjoyed the warm weather and made many lasting friendships. In 1991 they retired to Morden, Manitoba where they recently celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary. Mom was always active in the community; she enjoyed church activities, teaching Sunday School, gardening and entering her handiwork in the local fairs. She will always be remembered for her unwavering spirit and determination. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who was always available to give advice and home baked goodies.

She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, Loyde Lowry and daughters, Beth (Barry) Sundell of Holland, MB (Cory and Jewel, Camron and Kris) and Linda Lowry of Placerville, California as well as sons-in-law, Alex Sundell of Virden, MB (Kimberly, Kris and Joy) and Robert Holenski of Darlingford (Connor, Devon, Kayla and Tim) as well as three great grandchildren, Mykayla, Jonathan and Bella. Flora is survived by three sisters, Eunice McFee, Betty McKenty and Mary Prough. She was predeceased by her son, Bruce Lowry in 1964, daughters, Evelyne Sundell (Alex) in 2001 and Edith Holenski (Robert) in 2006, sister, Ester White and brothers, Bill and Bruce White.

Funeral service was held on Friday February 3, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Morden Alliance Church with interment at Darlingford Cemetery.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Persson and staff of Boundary Trails Health Center and also to the staff at Tabor Home for their compassionate care and concern. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the South Central Cancer Society, #2-160 Stephen St. Morden, MB, R6M 1T3 or to the Canadian Diabetes Association 200-310 Broadway Ave, Winnipeg, R3C 0S6.
