From the Winnipeg Free Press September 30, 2009:

“RUTH (ELAINE) SPRUNG (nee TICKNER) Elaine Sprung was born December 15, 1942 to Joe and Rae Tickner. She grew up on their family farm north of Darlingford and attended school in the Barclay District, Darlingford and Manitou. She entered nurse’s training at Misericordia Hospital and graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1964. Elaine married her high school sweetheart Maurice Sprung in September of 1964. Maurice and Elaine raised four children on the Sprung family farm north east of Manitou; Laurie (Michael) Crowe (Jenna, Tyler, Kaitlyn), Leanne (Jonathan) Sprung, Phil (Janine) Sprung (Julian), Kyle (Jennifer) Sprung (Clayton, Kelby, Colter). A celebration of Elaine’s life will be held Friday, October 2, 2009 at Zion Calvin United Church in Darlingford at 2:00 p.m. Lunch will follow at the Darlingford Community Hall. Interment will take place at the Darlingford Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Boundary Trails Health Centre Foundation, Box 2000, Stn. Main, Winkler, MB, R6W 1H8 or to a charity of one’s choice. Doyle’s Funeral Chapel, Morden, in charge of arrangements.”

I am guessing that she passed away on Sep 29; it may be a little before that.
