In the 1871 census for Wakefield, all spellings of “Hans” in their household are mispelled “Hance”

Lived with their widowed son Thomas, and his 5 kids, in 1881 census for Wakefield, Ottawa,PQ.

According to Cathy Kent (descendant from Thomas Stevenson), Hans came to Canada in the 1850’s, while his brother Thomas came in the early 1800’s.
