Gail Martin sent a copy of the text from the marriage of John’s son John Thomas, which shows John’s wife being Annie Maxwell (1878). I assume that he married twice, and that Annie had passed away by the 1881 census (where he is listed as widowed)?

Note: John and Catharine’s tombstone also has George Brown, died March 24, 1891 at the age of 25. I presume a grandson?
