Died in action during World War I. At the time of his attestation, his parents and him were living in Oyen, Alberta. The attestation was done on April 5, 1916, in Medicine Hat, Alberta. At the time, he is listed as being 5’ 6&1/2”, of dark complexion, grey eyes and black hair.

He was in the 3rd batallion of the Canadian Machine Gun Corps, and died at Vimy Ridge on August 27, 1918. More specifically, he was killed in an attack on Orange Hill,Monchy. The cemetery he is buried at is located 2&3/4 miles east of Arras, France.
