Allan was residing in Hagarty, Ontario at the time of his marriage to Elizabeth (shown as Eliza on the marriage record). He was a farmer at the time. Witnesses were Alex McMullen and Theresa Thomas, both of Algoma. They were married by Reverend R.D. Mills.

The 1891 census shows him being age 36, indicating he was born around 1855.

His tombstone says McMillan (vs. McMullen on the marriage record), so going with that.
