Lived with his parents and siblings at age 13 in the 1851 census for Kitley, in Leeds County, Ontario. He is listed as a labourer.

Lived in Pakenham along with his wife and kids in the 1871 census.

Barb has Thaddeus & Jane Smith’s wedding year as 1862.

From George E. Marshall family history, July 1944:

“Born April 28, 1840, at Kitley, Leeds County. After farming for a few years in Lanark County he settled at Washago, 1877. Farmer at Bracebridge and later North Orillia Township, Simcoe County. Died April 1923. Buried at Lake St. George Cemetery, Washago, Ontario.”

Was living in Ramsey when he married Jane Smith.

His report of death in Ontario records says that he was born in Carleton Place, Ontario, and that he was a millwright in the lumbering industry, and that was job for his entire life. It also says that his father Abial was born in the United States. He died of an accidental fall that fractured his femur.

The birth record for his son James Clinton has him being a farmer in Draper.
