From her nephew’s (Elmer Howard) family history:

Martha, being the youngest, was best known to us as she used to spend quite a. lot of her time at our home. She was a very beautiful girl, and married J.J. Bennett and settled on a farm north of Markdale. I was to her wedding. I think I was twelve years of age, just big enough to be inquisitive. Had to inspect each and all of the girls. They raised 5 children: Charlotte, Stewart, George, Margaret, and another boy whom I did not know. The latter lost his life in London, England during the Second World War. Aunt Martha passed away quite suddenly of a heart attack. It seems the neighbours had gathered to celebrate their golden wedding, which proved to be too much excitement for her and she passed away before the eyes of her guests.
