OLIVE -Elaine. With great sorrow we announce the peaceful passing of our loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother in the early morning of January 21, 2008. She is predeceased by her loving husband, Ted, and survived by daughter, Rhea (Brent) Davies of Calgary; son, Tim (Hiromi) Olive of Osaka, Japan; daughter, Lynette (Tim) Boyle of Sherwood Park AB; and adopted daughter Stacey Thiessen of Calgary. Also survived by grandchildren Christine, Dallas, Nikki (Darel), Rebecca, Mikaela, Reilly, Jarvis, Matthew, Rachelle, Lynden, Lance, Tiffany; great granddaughters Taylor and Khloe; siblings, Verna, Donna, Pat, Marilyn and Art and their spouses; in-laws Verna, May and Rose; and many nieces and nephews. Elaine was born on August 13, 1938 in Abernethy, SK and raised in Moose Jaw where she met her wonderful husband and best friend, Ted. They were married in 1955 and lived in Moose Jaw until 1974 then they moved to Davidson, and then to Saskatoon in 1999. Elaine loved Bingo and attending weekly markets which gave her the opportunity to make and meet with many dear friends. She loved doing volunteer work and made time for everyone, and family was most important to her. Elaine was predeceased by her parents, Vi and John Crapley; brothers, Gus, Al and Howard; parents-in-law, Frank and Alice; in-laws, Joan, Vera, Cliff, Walter and Jerry. Joking until the end, Elaine’s sense of humor will be remembered by all who knew her. As Elaine requested, no funeral service will be held, but in celebration of Elaine’s life there will be a gathering at the Fairfield Senior’s Center on Wednesday, January 23rd from 10 till noon. Donations in her memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of your choice.
