Obituary:

“HOWARD DOUGLAS HUNT Passed away peacefully, on Thursday, March 28, 2002 at Seven Regions Health Centre, Gladstone, MB, with his family at his side, Doug Hunt aged 60 years of Gladstone. He was born on September 29, 1941 in Morden, MB. Doug grew up in the Darlingford District and received his education at Darlingford School. He worked in Thompson for Inco for a number of years before returning to Darlingford where he farmed. On June 4, 1966 in Thompson, Doug married Anne Webster. In 1977 they moved to Gladstone. Doug farmed in the Gladstone area and then worked for the Department of Highways until early retirement due to failing health. Doug enjoyed food, especially cooking for family gatherings. He liked being around people and visiting and he also spent many hours gardening. Doug was also an ardent golfer and sports fan. Predeceased by his parents; two brothers, Walter and Jack Bryson. Left to cherish his memory is his wife Anne of Gladstone; two sons, Scott and Fern Hunt of Hay River, NWT and their children, Alyssa, Patrick and Aaron; Lorne and Kathy Hunt of Gladstone and their children, Kayla, Amanda and Taiylor; and daughter Lora McKinnon of Gladstone; one brother Jim and Diane Hunt of Morden; two sisters, Mavis and John Schmidt of Darlingford, Marie and Larry Seymour of Darlingford; sister-in-law Merle Bryson of Thompson; as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held on Monday, April 1, at 2:00 p.m. in the Gladstone United Church with Rev. Blair Whyte officiating. Cremation will follow with interment at Darlingford at a later date. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Diabetes Association. Clarkes Funeral Home, Gladstone in care of arrangements.”
