Never married. She was raised by Roberta, as Roberta kept house for James Barclay after his 2nd wife Mary Janet Stirton passed away, and when Reta’s mother Fannie died, she took Reta. Mannie and Jenny went to Katie who lived on the west coast.

The 1901 census shows her being born in the USA, and immigrating to Canada in 1890.
