Notes for Edward Wilson OWENS

Edward is listed as 1 years old in the 1852 census for Fitzroy (living with his parents Edward and Eliza, as well as his siblings John, Mary Ann and Elizabeth, and his grandfather Edward), so his birth yearshould be close to 1850, not 1840.

Was listed as 30 years old, and a widower farmer from Fitzroy on their marriage record. Witnesses were James Owens and Eliza Storey, both of Fitzroy.

There is an Edward and Sarah Owens listed in Fitzroy in the 1871 census, along with a daughter Elizabeth Ann (age 5), and a son William David (age 7 months). The ages are close for the parents, but I have no record of either of those two kids, so may not be the same couple.

There is an Edward Owens buried at St Pauls Anglican cemetery near Fitzroy, but the stone is very hard to read. I think it says he died in 1901, age 83 years, 9 months, so it may not be the same person. (On the other hand, it may say 63 years, 9 months, which would be about right).
