Notes for Osay LOWRY

She stayed 1 extra year in Ireland to study with a doctor, since doctors were scarce in Canada. On her trip to Canada (around 1827), she was shipwrecked in the Gulf of St. Lawrence and landed on Anticosti Island. All her household linens and possessions were lost.

Her tombstone at the Lowry Cemetery spells her name “Osay”.
