Thomas Boyle Family tree - and side branches

Notes for James SMITH

The Smith family immigrated to Canada in 1887, to Portage La Prairie, Manitoba. James worked at various logging camps in the 1910’s in Alberta, British Columbia and Idaho, and then he filed for a homestead at Sedalia, Alberta in 1916. After a severe drought in 1918, he had to leave the homestead, and answered a newspaper ad for farm help in Oak River, Manitoba.
