Attended 2 years of college. Started working for National Elevator Company in 1915. Switched to farming southwest of Rosthern in 1928. Retired to Rosthern in 1952.

He lived (with his wife and eldest son) in Sliding Hills area, Saskatchewan in the 1921 census (taken June 8). This is in east of Yorkton and Canora.
