She was in the Extended Care Unit of the Chilliwack General Hospital when she passed away. She had moved to Chilliwack/BC in 1955. She never married. She moved from Darlingford to Winnipeg in September of 1938, where she was a housekeeper at a rooming house, until she retired in 1955. She then moved to Chilliwack, B.C. She passed away from Cerebral Degeneration/Cerebral Arteriosclerosis (Alzheimers, I believe) and terminal bronchopneumonia.

FORMER DARLINGFORD RESIDENT PASSES

Passed away in the Extended Care Unit of Chilliwack General Hospital, on July 8, 1972, in her 88th year; Miss Jessie Laura Barclay, late of Chilliwack, B.C., and formerly of Winnipeg and Darlingford, Manitoba. The deceased was born and raised in Darlingford, and then was a resident of Winnipeg from 1938 until her retirement in 1955, when she moved to B.C. She is survived by one brother, William in Winnipeg, and by several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 12, 1972, at 10:30 a.m. from the Chapel of Henderson’s Funeral Home in Chilliwack,B.C., with interment to follow in the Oddfellows Cemetery. Mr. Arnold Webber officiating.
