“HAY--February 8, 1978, Mrs. Mary Bremner (Rae) Hay, aged 93 years of Bethany Care Centre. Born in Boissevain, Manitoba in 1884, she moved to Medicine Hat with her family in 1887. After teaching school for several years she was married in 1908 and came to Calgary in 1923 and to Stettler in 1931, returning to Calgary in 1970. She was a very active member of the United Church and was a Master Weaver. She is survived by four sons, Robert, Kingston, Ont.; Gordon, Camrose, Alta.; Cameron, Mayne Island, B.C.; Donald, Calgary; twelve grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Ella Dunphy, Toronto, Ont. and Miss M. Evaline Rae, Calgary. She was predeceased by her husband William E. Hay in 1958 and a son Stewart in 1973.Friends may call to pay their respects from Friday evening through to Sunday afternoon at “The Chapel on the Hill”, 1708-16 Ave. N.W. Cremation. A Memorial Service will he held later in May.”
