Paul and his father arrived by train at Spiritwood (heading for Leoville), on August 25, 1930. Leoville had a large french population.

Paul started the Timberland store in the fall of 1935. The area where the store was is also known as Timberland.

Theres was a triple wedding; two of Emilia Gagne siblings were also married that day.

They were living in the North West Territories (Pine Point, just south of Great Slave Lake) for awhile.
