Notes for George Edwin DELAHAY

George was living his widowed mother with the Charles and Mabel Shipley family in Los Angeles as of the 1910 census. His entry has an immigration year of 1907; I believe this is for California, as he was already in North Dakota in the 1900 census.

George also registered for World War I on September 12, 1918 in Los Angeles. At the time, he was living at 405 Hewitt Street in Los Angeles, and was listed as a laboroer for the State of California, Exposition Park. He listed his oldest brother William as his nearest relative, who was living in Bowesemont, North Dakota at the time. He is listed as medium height, medium build, with grey eyes and brown hair.

George moved to British Columbia around 1930. He worked various jobs as a general labourer for about 50 years, until he retired in 1946. He passed away from heart failure.
