Not sure on her name. The 1851 census only lists her as “Mrs. Souster”. Guessing from the 1861 census scans (and how they mispelled the daughter’s name from the previous census).

In the 1871 census (last name identified as “Sauster” on the Govt. of Canada site), she is listed as widowed, age 45, first name Gennet. There are couple of census that show her first name starting with a ‘G’, so Janet may not be the correct first name. At this time, the following kids are with her: John (age 22), Thomas (age 19), William (age 17), Daniel (age 14), Sarah Jane (age 12) and Robert H. (age 10).
