The 1901 census shows Peter and his family immigrating in 1891, and he becoming a naturalized citizen in 1898. Some of his children are listed as being born in Assiniboia, which is the district (around Regina) that was part of the North West Territories before the formation of Alberta and Saskatchewan in 1905. His family is listed as Roman Catholic, and they are all listed as being of Germanic descent.

According to the 1906 census for Assiniboia West in Saskatchewan (taken June 28), the family immigrated to Canada in 1891. At the time, he was farming on Section 30, Twp 15, Rg 17, W2 meridian (this is just southeast of Regina). He had 10 horses, 10 milch cows, 15 “other” cattle, and 6 hogs.
