Notes for George Allan WEINHANDL

Was in the army. Sent to England in March of 1944, and landed in France 6 days after D Day (so, on June 12, 1944). He worked as a carrier driver, and was seriously wounded by an IED explosive, causing a broken arm (which never did heal correctly), broken foot, and shrapnel in his body. Some shrapnel was left in for the remainder of his life, as the doctors were worried that removing some of it may have cause him loss of mobility.

George and Marian were married in Regina because Marian’s parents were still living there (they both lived in Lintlaw at the time).
