Flora was a member of Brandon (Manitoba) city council for 16 years, starting in 1953. She also assisted the Manitoba Centennial Corporation with their vist of Princess Alexandria (cousin of Queen Elizabeth II), and her husband, the Honourable Angus Ogilvy, in 1967, while they were guests at Brandon University.
