Lena had come to Canada around 1891, and to British Columbia around 1926. She had only been in South Burnaby since around early 1963.

At the time of her marriage to George, she was a tailoress.

She suffered from arteriosclerosis, which caused gangrene in her right leg. She then caught bronchial pneumonia, and passed away after two weeks.
