Her obituary from the Alexandria Park Region Echo, Thursday February 18, 1926:

“Mrs. Caroline Wilhelmina Zieske, one of the early settlers of the Garfield community, passed to her reward Monday morning, February 15, at ten AM following a stroke of paralysis, which she suffered the preceding week.

Caroline Wilhelmina Bork was born in the town of Labes, Germany, on the twentieth day of May 1843, and was baptized the eight day of March 1857. She was eighty-two years and two months of age at the time of her death. She came to the United States in the year 1864. In 1866 she was married to Wilhelm Zieske at Hutchinson, McLeod county, Mr. Zieske passed away twenty years ago. Seven children were born to them, four of whom survive. They are Mrs. Julius Linser, Garfield, Mrs. H.F. Miller, Goran Sask., Canada, Mrs. Herman Kemnitz of Garfield with whom she made her home for the past sixteen years and Herman Zieske of Heil, North Dakota. Three children, Albert, Fred and Minnie preceded her in death

The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon at 2PM from the home and the Lutheran church at Garfield at 2:30 PM Rev. J.F. Malkow had charge of the services. Interment was made in Garfield Cemetery.”
