She is shown in the 1891 census for Nepean, Ontario (taken April 17) with her widowed mother, and older brother Ernest. She is shown as a “domestic servant”.

In the 1901 census, she and her family (and her widowed mother) are living in Ottawa. However, her first name is listed as something like “Jervin” (I think they screwed up and put her maiden name as her first name).
