Notes for Pvt. Edward POTTER


Edward was a farmer in Killaloe when he applied for World War I on March 21, 1916. He was described as being 155 pounds, 5’, 8.5”, of dark complexion, with blue eyes and brown hair, with a cut on his right hip, during his medical exam that same day. He joined the infantry in the 42nd regiment, O.C. 130th Overseas Battalion, C.E.F. He was killed in action in an attack southeast of Souchez (near Vimy) in France. He is buried in Plot 7, Row D, Grave 9 at the Villers Station Military Cemetery in France.
