Notes for Anna “Annie” GONCZO

Place of birth from a ship passenger list from when she came back to New York,New York, along with her daughters, on March 13, 1929 on the ship SS Olympic. Her immigration Visa number on this voyage was 472, issued in Budapest on February 21, 1929 (the Olympic sailed from Cherbourg- I believe in France- on March 6, 1929). It listed her “last permanent residence” as Dayton, so I think she went to visit with her daughters, and this is her return.

There is an 18 year old Anna Gonczo from Hungary on the passenger list for ship SS Main, sailing from Bremen, Germany and arriving in Baltimore, Maryland on November 21st, 1912. If this is her, she was single, her occupation was “servant”. She is listed living in Hungary (Szabolcs County, possibly) at the time of her being on the boat, and the contact in her home country is listed as her father (can’t read the name), also in Hungary. Her destination is somewhere in Pennsylvania.
