Notes for Albert Ross ELLIS

Albert’s birth wasn’t registerd until July 13, 1925 by his father. He mentions that Dr. Bibby was in attendance at Albert’s birth.

This may have been done because he left Canada for the US a few months earlier, seeking work. His immigration card shows he crossed Port Huron, Michigan on May 29, 1925 (it shows him as 5 foot 7, medium complexion, dark hair and brown eyes, and that he was heading to a friend’s (Rachael Smith) place in Detroit “Indefinitely - seek work”. He was accompanied by Dalton Ferguson.

Albert was a butcher living in Pawassan at the time of his marriage to Nellie. Witnesses were Leslie McMullen of Duncan, and Justina Ellis of Kimberley.
